Nova Scotia is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis, while dealing with a global pandemic. It is important for renters to know the rights and obligations both tenants and landlords. To help, Tammy Wohler, Managing Lawyer of the Social Justice Office – Nova Scotia Legal Aid, will be doing a public legal education session on the Residential Tenancies Act. The session will be 1-2 hours and will cover:
- The Basics – Rights and Obligations of Tenants and Landlords
- Tips to Protect Yourself – What to Do Before, During, and After a Tenancy
- How to Deal with Problems with Your Landlord
- When the Landlord Threatens Eviction
- Owing Rent
- Other Reasons
- Residential Tenancy Hearings
